"How much does a Kerala trip cost?" is the first question every traveller asks. The honest answer depends on a few choices you control. Here are our real per-person package prices, what they cover, and what moves them up or down.
Kerala trip cost per person: the quick answer
For a Standard-category package with hotels, daily breakfast and a private vehicle, our current per-person prices* are:
- 4 nights / 5 days: ₹9,840 to ₹15,000 (Shortbreak)
- 5 nights / 6 days: ₹11,520 to ₹16,680 (Gateway)
- 6 nights / 7 days: ₹14,520 to ₹22,800 (Glimpse)
- 7 nights / 8 days: ₹16,200 to ₹24,360 (Exotic)
Each price is a range because the per-person rate depends on how many people travel. See all of them on our Kerala tour packages with price page.
What the price covers
Included (example: Kerala Glimpse 6N/7D): twin-sharing hotels with daily buffet breakfast, a private AC vehicle with an experienced driver, and driver allowance, toll, parking, night halt and inter-state permit. Children under 5 are free, without a bed.
Not included: flights or train tickets, entrance and activity fees unless specified, other meals, tips, and add-ons like an overnight houseboat. Inclusions vary a little by package, so check each page before comparing operators.
What changes the price
- Hotel category is the biggest lever. On the same 4 night route, the range goes from ₹9,840 to ₹15,000 in Standard to ₹14,400 to ₹19,800 in Superior. On the 7 night route, Standard is ₹16,200 to ₹24,360 and Premium is ₹32,400 to ₹40,560.
- Number of nights: longer trips cost more in total but less per day. Unsure how long to go? Read 5, 6 or 7 days in Kerala.
- Group size: the vehicle and driver are shared, so more travellers usually means a lower per-person rate.
- Season: rates rise in peak periods (see below).
- A houseboat night is priced separately.
Houseboat rates depend on your dates, the boat size (1 to 6 bedrooms, or a shared boat) and its category: Deluxe, Premium or Luxury. Browse our houseboat listings and send your dates on WhatsApp for the current rate.
Season hike: why December costs more
Kerala is busiest from December into January, around Christmas and New Year, and on festival and holiday weekends. In these windows a season hike applies and good hotels sell out early. The monsoon months, roughly June to September, are the quietest and usually the best value. Our best time to visit Kerala guide covers every season.
Four ways to get better value
- Avoid the Christmas and New Year weeks. Moving by even a week can change the rate.
- Book early. Good hotels and houseboats go first.
- Pick the category that suits you, and upgrade only the houseboat night.
- Travel as a group to share the vehicle cost, or ask us to adjust the route to your budget.
